From tents to bags

E tū

Rachel Kelly is a textile designer making bags from discarded festival tents to reduce textiles in the landfill. Good Intentions Camping is in the works of feeding this sustainable loop. Some salvaged gear will be going into Rachel's textile pile before becoming beautiful bags, happy for many years to come - long past their 'single-use' shelf life which usually ends on the last day of a festival.

A social enterprise

The Big Idea by The Big Issue

Good Intentions Camping as a business idea was first submitted to The Big Issue's social enterprise competition called The Big Idea. We combined our love for festival sustainability and out-of-home-care youth; providing seasonal work opportunities through setting up tents at festivals. Our idea for further impact is aimed at waste reduction as single-use tents are phased out - which is what we endlessly work towards to.
